SCAR MASSAGE involves gentle massage techniques to help reduce the appearance and discomfort of scars on the body. It is a non-invasive and non-surgical approach to scar treatment.

Scar tissue can develop as a result of surgery, injury, and cancer treatment. Scar tissue can be thick, inflexible, and can cause pain, discomfort, or restricted range of motion.

Scarwork massage aims to help reduce these symptoms by loosening the scar tissue, increasing blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and promoting healing.

During a scar work massage session, the therapist will use gentle, repetitive strokes and pressure to help break up adhesions and soften the scar tissue.

Scarwork massage can be a useful therapy for people with both old and new scars, as well as for people who have undergone surgeries or other medical procedures.

Tina Glynn, the Scar therapist, uses the techniques developed by Sharon Wheeler, an American therapist, who developed these techniques over the last 40 years. Tina is also one of the few ScarWork teachers in the UK.

She is also a Registered Nurse with many years of experience and works at the Royal Marsden Hospital, helping cancer patients post-surgery.  She is also trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, and Clinical massage.

For more information please feel free to contact Tina here or email and she will be happy to discuss further with you.
