TINA GLYNN has almost 40 years clinical experience. Initially trained as a nurse, and specialised in Oncology and Palliative care. She has held senior nursing positions including Oncology Matron and Lead Nurse for Palliative Care at St Georges Hospital, London.

 

Alongside her nursing career Tina developed a keen interest in holistic approaches to healthcare and how these could be incorporated to help recovery from the burdens of cancer treatment. in the 1990's Tina went on to train in a number of complementary therapies including massage and aromatherapy. She also achieved a BSc (Hons) in Health Studies and an MSc in Complementary Therapy Studies. Her Masters dissertation focussed on integrated cancer care services and what factors influenced success. The results of this research was instrumental in how complementary services in cancer care were developed and integrated at St Georges Hospital. 

 

In 2006 Tina became the Programme Manager for a breast cancer charity (Breast Cancer Haven), overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre and managing a large team of therapists. She worked there for 16 years until they were forced to close after the pandemic. This role allowed Tina to deepen and develop her knowledge and skills with a particular focus on scar therapy and manual lymphatic drainage. She trained initially with Willie Fourie, a renowned South African Physiotherapist, learning fascial release and scar techniques, Later she completed Sharon Wheeler ScarWork training, and more recently completed the full range of courses with Restore Scar Therapy.  In 2022 Tina Joined Emma Holly's Restore Scar Therapy team and now teaches scar techniques to therapists/nurses/physios around the UK. 

 

Tina completed the diploma in lymphoedema at the Royal Marsden Hospital in 2010 and then went on to qualify in Leduc MLD 2011 and later FG-MLD 2014 training, both recognised by MLDUK. As part of her qualification she has to update her skills every 2 years to remain on the MLDUK register. Tina is committed to continual professional development and completed the Advanced Clinical Massage Course with Jing Academy in 2020, and pregnancy massage training at St Marys, Twickenham in 2021. 

 

Tina's clinical practice is wide and varied, but mostly focuses on scar issues - such as cancer related scars and radiotherapy side effects, orthopaedic scars, C-Sections, trauma and burns, conditions affecting the lymphatic system such as lymphoedema, lipoedema and post-op recovery.
